So dad, how do you like the new iPad we got you?

Delightful little piece of German humour.

Unfortunately the video won’t embed, but you can watch it here.

(Thanks Grant.)

Meanwhile, at Tory headquarters…

they discuss the possibility of killing the poor. Raise VAT, cut income tax, kill all the poor. All in the effort to balance the national budget.

My favourite line in the thing is “it’s only cold-hearted pragmatism that is keeping you from pumping gas into Lidl”.

“We found the Conscience tied to a chair. He’d knocked him out.”

A clip from Woody Allen’s fabulous film Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Sex* – *but were afraid to ask. Here we see the final film short film in the series What happens during ejaculation? The whole concept is genius and I particularly enjoy Woody Allen’s cameo as a sperm, where he delivers two cracking one-liners: “What if it’s a homosexual experience!” and “At least he’s Jewish!”. Have a gander, it’s well worth ten minute of your time.

A Christmas Miracle

It could be a wonderful life.

There was nothing Snow White about that wan!

June Rogers’ take on Snow White.

Some of the gags are good; it’s a pity the audience is so miserable. Still, she’s being running her Christmas show in the Red Cow for years, so she must be doing something right.

I wonder did she have to have the outfit custom made?

Heard at Peter Kay

A woman walks into the doctor with a lettuce leaf sticking out of her knickers.

“That looks painful!” exclaimed the doctor.

“It’s only the tip of the Iceberg” said the woman.

What not to say in Berlin!

Last week I was in Berlin and I couldn’t get this tune of of my head. It’s from The Producers by Mel Brooks.

The funny thing is that if the war went the other way, it’s probably the type of musical theatre that would show in the West End. Albeit in that case, the comic element of Hitler being a big screaming Mary would probably not feature.
The dance routine is fantastic. They were much more daring with the 2005 re-make than with the original 1968 Gene Wilder film – although I suppose the passage of time and the healing of wounds had a lot to do with that.

N.B. I’ve just noticed that the singing stormtrooper is none other than John Barrowman. In one way, it’s very funny; in another it shows up just how sinister the homoerotic nature of the SS was. (As if that was the only sinister thing about the SS…)

Tranny Tailoring

Ladies with broad shoulders and certain male endowments will be delighted to learn that Fashion students in NCAD are busy embroidering away, tailoring to their every need – as I spied on this mannequin earlier.

It reminded me of Anne from Little Britain; something to do with the shoulders…

I never thought I’d be getting dressing tips from Sue Sylvestor.

Gerry Claffey, this one is especially for you.

Moore’s Law

Moore’s Law describes the trend in technology for products to double the speed/memory and half the price on a year on year basis. This of course can be very frustrating if the top of the range iPod that you just bought ain’t so top of the range no more…

And the original song is quite good too! The counting song! One two three four…

British justice is the best type of justice.

I love this sketch. It has enriched my vocabulary with such terrific terms as “lesboid”, “lesbicious”, and my personal favourite, “pernicious lesbite.”

(Thanks Jo.)

People with disabilities taking the piss out of themselves.

I’m off to the Axis theatre in Ballymun this evening. I was lucky enough to win tickets to Mat Frasier’s show From Freak to Clique. Apparently it’s a hilarious evening of disability-based humour. Well I’m going with James (my best mate, born with a disability), so I’ll get that regardless of whether the show is good or not.

The most punchlines delivered within the space of one minute.

The Two Ronnies Mastermind sketch. With it’s immaculate timing, it’s comedy gold.

STOP, LISTEN AND TAKE HEED!

Yesterday, 8th of March, was International Women’s Day.

There now follows an important public service announcement:
